Kathy Malone Sparks has been a champion for FCA for decades. A former collegiate student-athlete and distinguished athletic trainer, she was part of a team that helped create FCA Student Athletic Trainer Camps. Malone Sparks showed her dedication to the Indiana Public School (IPS) system by fostering FCA retreats for inner-city IPS students and raising the funds to cover all their expenses. In addition, she helped organize the FCA Inner City Girls Basketball Camp — a free weekly camp in which coaches volunteered their time to teach the game and share the gospel.

For more than 20 years, Malone Sparks volunteered during the summer at FCA camps serving as an athletic trainer while holding posts as a huddle leader, huddle leader coordinator, keynote speaker and chaplain. While helping provide athletic trainers to FCA camps all over the country, Malone Sparks served on FCA College Advisory Boards, worked as a huddle leader and workshop leader at the FCA Midwest College Retreat, and served as a huddle coach at both Arsenal Technical and Northwest High Schools in Indianapolis.
