Not only is Deb Patterson a basketball coach, she is also a teacher, a leader and a faithful disciple and follower of the Lord. Patterson amassed 350 victories over 18 years as the head coach at Kansas State, but the number of players and fellow coaches she touched and brought to Christ is more highly regarded.
The 2012 Kay Yow Heart of Coach Award winner was heavily involved in FCA on the campus in Manhattan. Patterson led Coaches Bible Studies, welcomed FCA into her on-campus summer camps and spoke at various FCA functions on campus and across the Kansas, Colorado and Missouri region. The Rockford, Ill., native also was active in the Manhattan community volunteering her time at the Coronado Area Council, Boy Scouts of America and Manhattan Young Life.
