Edward Britton, one of the founding members of the Northern Virginia FCA where he served on the board for 12 years, played lacrosse at the United States Naval Academy and served as team captain in 1958. He was part of the United States Air Force for 10 years and upon retiring from military service became a stockbroker for 37 years. Prior to his retirement from the business world in 2006, he worked as a Senior Vice President at Citigroup/Smith Barney.

As a Christian businessman, Britton understood the impact of influence and was involved with numerous FCA and Northern Virginia ministries. He loved the platform that FCA provided to young people and was active in the organization as a board member, volunteer, prayer warrior, donor and mentor. Britton and his wife, Dottie, adopted Jefferson High School near them in Alexandria, Virginia, and each year would open their home to host Jefferson FCA Huddle outreach events. Britton passed away in May of 2008, but he lived life with passion for Jesus Christ, his family and others.
