Betty Probasco

Golf legend Betty Probasco has passionately pursued Christ for years through the sport of golf. She won the 1950 NCAA Golf Championship and went on to claim major, state and regional titles in five different decades. Probasco took home the Women’s Tennessee State Amateur eight times, the Kentucky State Amateur title four times, and was a Curtis Cup team member in 1956 and a captain of the team in 1982. Through her numerous wins on the golf course, Probasco was inducted into Golf and Sports Halls of Fame in both Tennessee and Kentucky.

But, perhaps even more outstanding is how Probasco helped the Greater Chattanooga FCA and FCA Golf Ministry spread the gospel through the game. Probasco, a National FCA Board member, served the Chattanooga Area FCA golf program by annually helping generate thousands of dollars for its local golf tournaments, one of which was named in her honor.
