Jim Rexilius posted a career high school coaching record of 177-74 during his tenure at Wheaton North High School in Illinois, but he will be remembered most for his desire to share his faith with others. Rexilius, who for 26 years organized and led the FCA Coaches’ Breakfast at the Illinois High School Coaches Clinic, won two Illinois State High School Championships and helped develop numerous future NFL players during his career.

“Coach Rex” initiated Wheaton’s first FCA Huddle in 1968 and went on to lead it for 28 years. For more than 30 summers Rexilius took busloads of young men to FCA Camps where the message of Christ was shared and mixed with football instruction. Even after leaving Wheaton’s head coaching position, Rexilius continued to serve the FCA Ministry working as a Huddle Coach at West Chicago High School where he worked as a volunteer coach.
