Jim Myers worked as an assistant coach on Tom Landry’s Dallas Cowboy staff for almost 25 years, and also served as a college head coach for five years. Influenced by both Landry and legendary Cowboy quarterback Roger Staubach, Myers found Christ during his time with the Cowboys and became heavily involved in FCA.

Following his retirement from coaching, Myers worked as chairman of the Tom Landry Golf Tournament helping support the Greater Dallas FCA, in addition to a benefit golf tournament bearing his name — Jim Myers Rio Grande Valley Open. His tireless efforts to support FCA were recognized when an award was created and presented in his honor — The Jim Myers Extra Mile Award.
