Neil Lomax served as the face of FCA in Portland, Ore., and the Pacific Northwest for many years. The 1996 National Football Foundation College Football Hall of Fame inductee served as a director on local and state FCA boards and raised significant funds for the ministry. Lomax’s passion for Christ led him to volunteer as an assistant coach at Roosevelt High School in Portland, and his impact there reached far beyond the field. A mentor to Roughriders’ head coach Christian Swain, Lomax urged the coach and his wife, Kia, to attend an FCA Couples Getaway which not only transformed their lives and marriage, but also helped lead numerous Roosevelt athletes to meet and follow Christ.

The two-time All-Pro (1984 & 1987) quarterback finished his eight-year NFL career with an 82.7 passer rating which ranks among the league’s all-time Top-50. Lomax finished seventh in the 1981 Heisman Trophy balloting after throwing for more than 4,000 yards and 37 touchdowns as a senior at Portland State University. The former PSU Eagle set more than 90 Football Championship Subdivision records during his career and was named Senior Bowl MVP before being drafted by the then-St. Louis Cardinals in 1981.
