Mike Kolen
Mike Kolen, the first-ever winner of the FCA College Athlete of the Year honor in 1970, was a two-time All-American at Auburn University where he also helped establish the school’s FCA Huddle. Following his collegiate career Kolen starred at linebacker for the Miami Dolphins and head coach Don Shula for eight seasons, playing a key role on Miami’s undefeated 1972 Super Bowl Championship squad.
Regarded as the “Face of FCA in Alabama,” Kolen served on FCA boards in Central and North Central Alabama beginning in 1985, and also served on the FCA National Board of Trustees. Kolen continued his service to FCA by helping establish the Blue Gray FCA Breakfast in Central Alabama and speaking at many FCA events across the state.
