Jimmy Feix
Jimmy Feix, the winningest football coach in Western Kentucky University history, was also a star quarterback for the Hilltoppers, leading his team to its first-ever Ohio Valley Conference Championship in 1952. Feix helped FCA’s influence locally on the Bowling Green, Kentucky, campus as well as regionally and nationally. The three-time Ohio Valley Conference Coach of the Year, supported FCA’s growth in the Barren River Area even after his retirement, as an honorary board member, event speaker and financial supporter.
The first-ever football All-American at Western Kentucky, Feix experienced Jesus Christ at an FCA Camp at Black Mountain, N.C., in the 1970s and lived the rest of his life sharing the same message of God’s love. After his playing career, and a short stint in the U.S. Air Force, Feix returned to his alma mater as a coach and helped establish the school’s first-ever FCA Huddle in 1975. Following his coaching career, which included 106 wins in 16 seasons as the WKU head coach, he moved on to collegiate administration serving as the WKU Athletics Director until his retirement in 1991.
