Joan Cronan
The Tennessee Lady Volunteers’ Athletic Director for more than three decades, Joan Cronan was always focused on developing athletes into better people. Cronan, who coached two seasons of basketball at Tennessee from 1968-70, was also active in the community serving as chair for the Knoxville United Way.
A National Board of Trustee member, Cronan first became involved with FCA as a coach and dean at FCA Girls’ Camp at Black Mountain, N.C. Cronan, who credited her Christian faith in helping her accomplish success in leading the Tennessee Women’s Athletic Department, played a major role in helping FCA develop a strategy for women’s ministry.
